Eight days out from the NFL draft, Cleveland Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown said his team has received calls from teams inquiring about a possible trade for the No. 1 overall pick.

Cleveland Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown speaks to the media during the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

But it doesn’t sound like the Browns are interested in moving.

“We feel really good about picking at 1,” Brown said Wednesday at a news conference.

Brown said his staff has “narrowed” down the potential list of players the Browns could draft at No. 1, and said it would be false to consider the team's decision makers to be in disagreement about that top pick. A report from ESPN last week indicated that Browns leadership was split on whether to take Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett or North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Cleveland.com later reported coach Hue Jackson was a proponent of Garrett for the selection.

“We feel good about where we’re going to be and who we’re going to pick there,” Brown said.

The Browns own 11 picks in next week’s draft, including five picks in the top 65. The Browns also have the No. 12 pick as part of the haul they received from the Philadelphia Eagles last year for trading out of the No. 2 spot.

While Brown sounded confident his team would stay put at No. 1, he did not rule out moving around later in the draft, potentially in the first round.

“We don’t want to get into the habit of turning two picks into one, I don’t think that’s a good way to do business over time. That does not mean if there’s a player there we might not go take a shot,” Brown said. “We think we could do that without impacting our draft too much.”
