Doug Overton pleaded guilty to three counts of disorderly conduct.

Former NBA player Doug Overton said his arrest earlier this week for indecent exposure was the unintended consequence of relieving himself alongside a trail in suburban Philadelphia.

Overton, who is the men’s basketball coach of Division II Lincoln University, faces indecent exposure and disorderly conduct charges stemming from his Sunday arrest, according to multiple published reports.

"During the walk, I felt the need to relieve myself. With the nearest bathroom nearly a mile away, I stepped off the trail and into a wooded area to take care of business in what I thought was a discreet manner,” Overton said in a statement to Philly.com.

Overton is free on $10,000 bail.

Overton allegedly exposed himself to both men and women on a trail in Lower Merion.

“The entire case is a shame because (Overton) is going to be judged in the world of public opinion well before he makes it into a courtroom and proves his innocence,” Marty Mullaney, one of Overton’s attorneys, told The Delaware County Times. “That’s why these cases are horrendous to somebody’s reputation.”
