Despite 14 points apiece from Nikita Conroy and Teziya Taylor, the West Allis Central girls basketball team fell to Shorewood, 65-42, on Nov. 22 in nonconference action.

Central came within three points late in the first half but fell behind, 35-21, by halftime. The Bulldogs could come no closer in the second half to fall to 0-2 on the young season.

Coaches said the team took higher percentage shots than in its opening-game defeat and hit the offensive boards well.

The Bulldogs took on Milwaukee Ronald Reagan on Nov. 29 and will open the Greater Metro Conference season against rival West Allis Hale at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Central Fieldhouse. The Huskies downed St. Thomas More, 57-44, last week to improve to 2-0.

Central then takes on perennial power Milwaukee Riverside at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Riverside before welcoming Sussex Hamilton for another GMC contest Friday, Dec. 9.
