The diving crew, a strength for the West Allis team all season long, continued to perform well in a WIAA Division 1 sectional meet Nov. 4 at Mukwonago.

Junior Alivia DuFay finished fourth with 342.85 points, followed by senior Courtney Niemczyk sixth with 307.3 points and senior Eleanor Brown eighth with 273.35 points. None of them qualified for the state meet in Madison this week, however.

The top swimming efforts were turned in by three relay teams that came in 11th. They were Julia Kusik, Katelyn Kurtz, Olivia White and Angelique Aliota in the 200-yard medley with 2 minutes, 15.16 seconds and the 200 freestyle with 2:00.03 and Hailey Turner, Sue Skrowback, Abby Scardino and Rebecca Witt in the 400 freestyle at 4:46.46.

Kurtz finished 14th in the 200 individual medley at 2:30.09 and 19th in the 100 breaststroke at 1:17.82.

Earning 22nd were Kusik in the 100 butterfly (1:18.46) and White in the 100 freestyle (1:04.58). In the 100 breaststroke, Scardino placed 23rd (1:24.64) and Witt 24th (1:25.81).

The Wave tallied 78 points for ninth place in the meet, which was won by Arrowhead at 379 points.

The meet concluded the season for the Wave, which won the Milwaukee Riverside Invitational and finished sixth in the Greater Metro Conference Meet.
