A 6-2 victory over New Berlin West was the lone highlight in a tough week for the West Allis Hale baseball team.
The Huskies posted that triumph during the wood bat tournament on June 18 at South Milwaukee and Cudahy.
They lost their other game of that day, 3-1, to Cudahy, with Matthew Mihaljevic taking a disappointing loss on the mound. They managed just four hits off Cudahy pitcher Rusty Murphy.
They fell to rival West Allis Central, 7-1, on June 17, with Sam Valona absorbing the loss on the mound. The Huskies fell behind 7-0 after three innings before scoring their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
Hale dropped a doubleheader to Menomonee Falls, 17-4 and 12-2, on June 16. Tyler O'Brien went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in during the first game.
The Huskies were shut out, 5-0, against Franklin on June 14, getting just two hits off Takoda Metoxen.
They also lost to Marquette, 12-1, on June 13, with Isaiah Mundt going 2-for-2.
The Huskies play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Brookfield East and then take on Waukesha South at 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Frame Park in Waukesha.
They meet another Classic 8 Conference team in Waukesha South at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Belich Field.
Hale returns to Greater Metro Conference play at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, against Sussex Hamilton and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, against Oak Creek. Both games are at Belich Field.
