Greenfield names Weller new head wrestling coach

Mike Weller has been named the new head wrestling coach for the 2016-17 season at Greenfield High School.

Weller is a 1995 graduate of Greenfield and worked with the Greenfield Middle School wrestling program from 2002 to 2014. In that capacity, he coached many of the current high school wrestlers while they were in middle school.

He will take over for Chris Otto, who guided the Hustlin' Hawks to a Woodland Conference co-championship with Pewaukee in the 2015-16 season.

Weller, who was the head wrestling coach at Brookfield East the past two seasons, takes over a program that returns 35 wrestlers.

'This job is my dream job; it's my Notre Dame,' Weller said.

Athletic director Trent Lower said of Weller, 'Greenfield High School is fortunate to have such a qualified alumnus as coach Weller, with great knowledge and passion for both the sport and school.'
