Stave signs free-agent contract with Vikings

Former Whitnall High School and University of Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave was not selected in last week's National Football League draft, but he is not completely out of the NFL picture.

Stave signed a free-agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings, allowing him to try out for the team.

Greenfield's Davis, Kalous sign with colleges

Rick Davis of Greenfield High School signed to attend and compete in swimming at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay next season.

Also for Greenfield, Elizabeth Kalous will compete in volleyball at Lewis College.

Forrest Larson basketball camp set for Hamilton

An advanced basketball instruction camp led by Wisconsin coaching great Forrest Larson will be held at Sussex Hamilton High School on Saturday, May 21.

Registration is from 8:15 to 9 a.m., followed by the first session from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., lunch from 12 to 12:30 p.m. and the second session from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

All campers must bring their own basketball, as well as extra socks, shirts, shorts and shoes. Locker rooms will be available, and campers should bring a lock.

Basketball skills camp slated at Hamilton

Wisconsin coaching great Forrest Larson will conduct an advanced offensive basketball skills camp on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, at Sussex Hamilton High School.

The camp is for boys in fourth through 11th grades and is a highly intensive camp emphasizing skill development rather than team play.

Registration takes place from 5 to 6 p.m. on May 13, with the camp running from 6 to 9 p.m. On May 14, the camp is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The cost is $90, including a T-shirt and Saturday lunch. Enrollment is limited to 90 players.
