Senior Claudia Kirkpatrick ended her career with the Greenfield/Pius XI girls swimming and diving team in style.
Kirkpatrick placed eighth with 1 minute, 5.4 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke at the WIAA Division 1 state meet on Nov. 12 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Natatorium.
She improved on her seed time of 1:05.53 and earned 11 points for the TigerHawks.
Kirkpatrick was one of three entries for Greenfield/Pius XI at the state meet.
Sophomore Lily Lustig came in 16th in the 500 freestyle with 5:13.81, winning one point for her team, and sophomore Madison Misko finished in a tie for 22nd in the 100 freestyle with 54.64 seconds.
The TigerHawks tallied 12 points for 31st place in the 41-team meet, which was won by Middleton with 265 points.
Greenfield/Pius XI was the lone Woodland Conference team in the Division 1 meet, with eight others competing in Division 2.
The team enjoyed a strong season, winning the Woodland Conference Relays and league meet and taking second in the Falcon Funfest and Watertown Invitational and fourth in their WIAA sectional meet.
"This was truly a season to remember," head coach Dale Schrank said.
The TigerHawks will bring back a good deal next season, with Lustig, Misko, Kristianna Mijovic, Elizabeth Misorski, Sophia Davis, Olivia Davis, Gabriella Goodbear and Alyssa Hassel among the returnees.
