The 300-yard butterfly team of Isabelle Mueller, Kelly McElvain, Tegan Klass and Nicole Beckman won with 3 minutes, 3.26 seconds to help the Whitnall girls swimming and diving team take third place in the Woodland Conference Relays on Sept. 21.

Their effort gave the Falcons 32 points toward their total of 264, which trailed first-time champion Greenfield/Pius XI with 308 points and New Berlin Eisenhower with 302 points in the 12-team meet.

The Falcons captured a trio of second places: Brooke Miles, Cassie Kopcha, Klass and McElvain in the 800 freestyle (8:45.3); Grace Schneble, McElvain, Maddie Holcomb and Miles in the 300 backstroke (3:12.55); and Leena Meyers, Isabel Cole, Katelyn Bloomer and Beckman in the 100 freestyle (53.81).

Whitnall also collected three third places, with Miles, Rebecca Bloomer, Beckman and Katelyn Bloomer in the 200 medley (2:00.81); Schneble, Rebecca Bloomer, Cole and Katelyn Bloomer in the 100 medley (1:02.43); and the diving squad (312.65 points). Names of the divers were not available.

The 300 breaststroke group of Hannah Koch, Jennifer Bloomer, Klass and Rebecca Bloomer took fourth (4:00.5), and sixth places went to the 200 freestyle unit of Meyers, Jennifer Bloomer, Mueller and Cole (1:56.66) and the 400 medley squad of Miles, Rebecca Bloomer, Beckman and McElvain (4:56.53).

The 400 freestyle unit of Kopcha, Meyers, Jennifer Bloomer and Katelyn Bloomer came in seventh (4:26.48), and the 500 freestyle group of Cole, Jennifer Bloomer, Kopcha and Klass took eighth (5:52.92).

Whitnall met Cudahy earlier this week in a Woodland Conference dual meet and will take on Brown Deer/University School in another dual meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at home.
