Led by four flight winners, the Whitnall boys tennis team took home the championship of the South Milwaukee Invitational on May 7.

Singles winners were Jason Dundas in the first slot with a 6-2, 7-5 triumph over Joel Rodriguez of South Milwaukee and Mike Rumage in the second spot with a 5-7, 6-4, (10-6) decision over Joe Foye of Muskego.

In doubles, the second team of Matt Paprocki and Aaron Durler prevailed over an Oak Creek team, 6-4, 7-5, and the third unit of Joe Ramschak and Gabe Quirini took a 6-4, 6-2 victory over a Muskego team.

Placing third were Jack Stemper at third singles, Evan Steck at fourth singles and the first doubles team of Jake Garman and Gabe Danz.

The Falcons tallied 31 points to beat Oak Creek and Muskego, who tied for second with 25 points, in the six-team field.

Whitnall also beat Muskego, 5-2, in a nonconference dual meet on May 4. Winners were Dundas, Rumage, Stemper and Patrick Schinner in singles and Paprocki and Durler at second doubles.

The Falcons also downed Cudahy, 7-0, on May 5 to boost their Woodland Conference dual-meet record to 3-1.

All four singles players, including Carson Johnson in the fourth spot, won 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, Garman and Danz took a 6-1, 6-1 decision and Paprocki/Durler and Remschak/Quirini prevailed, 6-0, 6-0.

The Falcons will play a Woodland crossover dual meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 12, and then participate in the Woodland Tournament on Tuesday, May 17, and Wednesday, May 18, at sites in Greenfield and Greendale.
