Whitnall sophomore Haley Wynn stands to be one of the more exciting players in the area over the next two years. The multi-positional talent was named first-team All State by the Wisconsin Fastpitch Coaches Association after her strong 2017 season, as well.
The pitcher and third baseman for Whitnall batted .563 with a pair of homers, 54 runs scored and 20 RBIs. She also went 8-3 in the circle with 67 strikeouts.
She was named to the “Large Schools” first team, a 24-player ensemble from schools representing Divisions 1 and 2.
Greenfield landed a pair of second-team All State selections in Alyssa Vikolski and Taylor Johnson, both juniors for the Hustlin’ Hawks.
Johnson hit .526 and scored a team-best 33 runs. The catcher’s batting average was the fourth-best in school history, and she has the defensive game to match her elite offensive numbers. Vilkoski hit .443 with four homers and 40 RBIs, part of a .753 slugging percentage (12 doubles, three triples). She also went 22-6 as the team’s pitcher, with a 1.83 ERA and a smoking 256 strikeouts.
In All-District voting, Whitnall’s Sierra Grubor was named honorable mention.
