WEST ALLIS - A West  Allis man, 20, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, March 23, on allegations that he demanded and received nude and sexually explicit photos from underage girls via the internet.

Nathan Dankert, 2304 S. 66th St., faces two charges of sexual exploitation of a child and 10 counts of possession of child pornography. The sexual exploitation of a child charges each carry a maximum of 40 years in prison. Each possession of child pornography carries a maximum of 25 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, the victims were 13 and 15 at the time of the incidents last year. The 13-year-old girl lives in Idaho, while the complaint doesn't specify where the 15-year-old girl lives.

When the 13-year-old refused to send nude pictures, the defendant threatened to stop communicating with her, the complaint says. Eventually, she relented and sent photos, but he kept asking for more and she stopped sending, the complaint says. Then the defendant is accused of putting her nude pictures on a tumbler.com page and posting a link to her Facebook page.

That meant the photos on tumbler were visible to the child's friends and family who had access to her Facebook page, the complaint says.

To get the 15-year-old to send nude pictures, the defendant threatened to hurt himself, the complaint says. Once, he threatened to send her nude pictures to her boyfriend. He followed up on that threat, the complaint says. She also made videos of herself for him because of his threats, the complaint says.

The 13-year-old told police that she met Dankert through DRRR.com, which is a role playing website, the complaint says. The defendant's character began touching her character in a sexual way. Then he asked for nude photos.

The 15-year-old told police that she knew the defendant through Facebook and communicated with him through Facebook Messenger. She role played with him and sometimes it got sexual, the complaint says.

To pursue the investigation, West Allis police went through thousands of pages of Facebook Messenger history, obtained with a search warrant. An example of the police pursuit is the note in the complaint that a detective located the start of pertinent conversations between the defendant and the 13-year-old on page 12,546.

The FBI also was involved in the investigation.

The charges specify that if the defendant is found guilty of sexual exploitation of a child, the court will impose at least five years in prison. If convicted of possession of child pornography, the court will impose a surcharge of $500 for each image and each copy and impose at least three years in prison. The maximum sentence for possession of child pornography is 25 years.
