A public involvement meeting to review and comment on plans for a pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Highway 100 will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the West Allis City Hall, 7525 W. Greenfield Ave.
The proposed bridge would be at about the 1800 block of south Highway 100 next to a railroad bridge.
The bike bridge would be phase two of the three-phase West Allis Cross-Town Connector Trail Project. The trail will eventually extend five miles across the city, include on-road bike routes and link with the Hank Aaron State Trail on the west side of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medcal Center via 56th Street.
The bridge is slated to be built in 2018. Exhibits and handouts will be part of the meeting. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
