GREENFIELD — A Greenfield man who allegedly shot his son in the arm while the son was shooting heroin is slated to appear at a preliminary hearing March 13 on a charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
The complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court alleges that Richard Matte, 61, of 4122 S. 122nd St., fired a pistol in the direction of his son the evening of Feb. 15 at their home. Matte told police that he was frustrated at his son's drug use but that he didn't mean to shoot his son, only to scare him, the complaint says.
The teen was treated at a local hospital and released.
At Matte's initial court appearance, he was ordered to have no contact with his son, who also lives at the S. 122nd Street address.
