Assault

Police responded to a report that six females and one male were physically fighting by the soccer field at Zablocki Park, 3717 W. Howard Ave., at 6:25 p.m. June 30. Officers determined that the fight, which was between two soccer teams, started when a woman on one team gave a woman on the opposing team a hard time, which led to both teams fighting each other. One player’s husband also became involved, but he drove off when police arrived, initiating a police pursuit. He was later found inside his vehicle in West Allis, where he was taken into custody for eluding and battery. Two women were also taken into custody and cited for battery. No serious injuries were reported.

Burglary

A Craftsman push mower was stolen from an open garage in the 3500 block of South 46th Street between 11 a.m. and noon June 28.

Copper was reported stolen out of a basement of a home under construction in the 4400 block of South 110th Street at 2:40 p.m. June 28. 

Power tools, a barbecue grill and picnic supplies were reported stolen out of a basement storage unit in the 4300 block of West Loomis Road at 5:35 p.m. June 29. The theft occurred sometime between May 29 and June 29.

Theft

A man was taken into custody for theft by contractor after he allegedly took money from a resident in the 3000 block of West Vogel Avenue for a construction job but never completed the work at about 6 p.m. June 26. He also had warrants with the Milwaukee and Waukesha county sheriff’s departments and was taken to jail.

Car keys were stolen from a locker at Xperience Fitness, 6251 S. 27th St., between 10 and 11 a.m. June 27.

A purse containing a wallet and cash was stolen out of a locked vehicle at Xperience Fitness, 6251 S. 27th St., at 5:15 p.m. June 27. A window was smashed out of the vehicle.

A vehicle that was stolen in the 4900 block of South Heritage Drive was involved in a car fire in the 4300 block of North Teutonia Avenue in Milwaukee at about 1:30 a.m. June 28.

A purse was reported stolen from a female patron at Mad Dog Saloon, 4395 S. 76th St., at 10:25 a.m. June 29. The thief tried to use one of the woman’s credit cards to make a purchase at a gas station.

Equipment, including rectifiers, fiber optic trays and a router, was reported stolen out of a cell tower box in the 4100 block of West Ramsey Avenue at 11:55 a.m. July 2. Loss from this theft and a theft at a cell tower on West Grange Avenue is estimated at more than $10,000.

A router was reported stolen out of a locked cell tower box in the 3400 block of West Grange Avenue at 12:25 p.m. July 2.

A wrought iron plant holder in the shape of a bicycle was stolen out of a yard in the 7900 block of West Allerton Avenue at 2:20 p.m. July 2. The suspect, described as a white female about 50 years old with red hair and missing teeth, was last seen headed east towards the Forest Home/Layton Avenue-on ramp in a purple sedan.

Drug possession

A woman was taken into custody for possession of heroin, cocaine and LSD, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver during a traffic stop in the 4600 block of South 27th Street at about 2:15 a.m. June 28.

OWI

Police responded to the 4600 block of West Loomis Road after multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle ran off the road and knocked over a sign at 6:30 p.m. June 26. The male driver, who was found passed out in the driver’s seat, was taken into custody for OWI (drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A man whose vehicle was involved in a collision in the 7500 block of West Edgerton Avenue was taken into custody for OWI (drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:10 p.m. June 30. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.

Other

Police responded to a report that two male residents were fighting at a senior assisted living facility, Maxson Manor, 11250 W. Cold Spring Road, at about 10 p.m. June 26. The men apparently got into an altercation over the TV remote control while watching wrestling. They were warned about their behavior, and agreed to stay in their rooms for the rest of the evening.

A man who was belligerent on the phone and threatened the manager at McDonald’s, 4275 S. 27th St., was cited for hindering after he gave police several fake names during the investigation at about 11:05 a.m. June 27.

An officer pursuing a silver minivan that refused to pull over for a traffic stop on South 27th Street and West Grange Avenue ended the pursuit after the minivan began crossing into oncoming traffic and drove up onto the sidewalk at about 2:25 a.m. June 30. While police were checking the area the van was seen coming back towards Greenfield on West College Avenue, being pursued by Cudahy police. The vehicle stopped just north of College on 13th Street, where the male driver was taken into custody by Cudahy police. Two female passengers inside the vehicle fled on foot and were not found. Police later discovered the vehicle was stolen from West Allis.

Four people wearing masks and riding in a black van shot paintballs at several children who were walking home in the 3500 block of West Howard Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. July 2. One of the children was hit by a paintball. The van was last seen heading west on Howard Avenue.

Greenfield police assisted the fire department with three rescue calls and one fire call between June 26 and July 2.
