Vandalism

A man who was involved in a road rage incident in the 4500 block of South 84th Street got out of his vehicle and punched the other vehicle while wearing brass knuckles at 3:55 p.m. June 16. He was cited for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Four black males in their early teens were seen smashing a window on a Cadillac in a parking lot in the 3100 block of West Howard Avenue just before 5 a.m. June 12. The four were scared away when they were approached by a security guard, and they fled in a dark colored Subaru sedan.

The rear window was smashed out on a vehicle in the 3500 block of South 32nd Street between the late evening hours of June 12 and 6:30 a.m. June 13. A caller reported seeing two males looking into parked vehicles in the area at 12:15 a.m.

Burglary

Someone broke the front window at Clark Gas, 4621 W. Forest Home Ave., and entered the building at about 2:20 a.m. June 13. Surveillance footage showed a black male wearing a yellow shirt, a black hooded sweatshirt and a white mask entered the business, and then tried to get into the back room. Nothing was reported missing.

The locked, outdoor battery cage was broken into at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., and used batteries were stolen between the evening hours of June 14 and 7 a.m. June 15.

Theft

A woman shoplifted a pair of shoes at Skechers Factory Outlet, 5000 S. 76th St., and fled the lot in a red Ford Escape at about 10:25 a.m. June 12. The suspect, who was identified through her vehicle registration, was taken into custody when she came into the Greenfield Police Station to see her probation & parole agent.

A metal business card holder, change, and CDs were reported stolen out of a locked vehicle in the 5200 block of West Midland Drive at 7:20 a.m. June 13. One of the vehicle windows was smashed out.

Police received a report that an unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through in the 3500 block of South 32nd Street at 7:35 a.m. June 13. Nothing was reported stolen.

A gym bag containing house and vehicle keys and a wallet was reported stolen out of an unlocked locker at Xperience Fitness, 6251 S. 27th St., at 1:30 p.m. June 13.

A woman who was reportedly seen “lurking” around the women’s locker room at Xperience Fitness, 6251 S. 27th St., was taken into custody for receiving stolen property after police found a stolen iPhone in her possession at about 5 p.m. June 14. A member had reported her iPhone went missing about 25 minutes before the woman was arrested.

A resident reported seeing two males checking underneath vehicles parked in the 5600 block of West Abbott Avenue at about 3:50 a.m. June 15. The males fled when the resident’s dogs started barking. Police later found signs indicating they were trying to break into the resident’s vehicle, and two other locked vehicles in the 5300 to 5600 blocks of West Abbott.

A moped was reported stolen out of a driveway in the 4500 block of West Morgan Avenue at 11:10 a.m. June 15.

A member’s cellphone and wallet were reported stolen out of the men’s restroom at the YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., at 2:55 p.m. June 16.

A bench was stolen out of a front yard in the 9400 block of West Layton Avenue between June 16 and 7:45 p.m. June 17.

OWI

A woman was taken into custody for OWI after she drove her vehicle through a parking lot, over a curb, down a grassy embankment and crashed into a tree in the 6900 block of West Cold Spring Road at about midnight June 16. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.16.

Accidents

A man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a bus shelter, a tree and a pole on South 27th Street and West Cold Spring Road at about 9:20 a.m. June 17. No citations were issued.

Other

Police went to South 45th Street and West Armour Avenue after a caller reported a baby raccoon was trapped in the sewer and not moving at 11:50 p.m. June 16. The officer reported the raccoon was moving, and advised the caller that animals live in the sewers.
