Man arrested after crash in West Allis leaves motorcyclist dead

A two-vehicle crash involving alcohol in West Allis Wednesday morning left a motorcyclist dead, according to police.

West Allis police responded to a report of the crash at S. 60th and W. Mitchell streets shortly after midnight. According to an initial investigation, an SUV traveling southbound on S. 60th St. made a left-hand turn, failing to yield right-of-way to a motorcycle traveling northbound on S. 60th St.

The operator of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old man from West Allis, died from injuries suffered in the crash, authorities said.

Police have arrested the driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old West Allis man, on suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and operating after revocation causing death.
