Burglary

Police received a report that a home was broken into in the 4300 block of West Anthony Drive at 10:35 a.m. Dec. 16. The back door was found kicked in, but nothing was reported missing from the residence.

Police responded to the 4600 block of South 45th Street after receiving a report that someone broke into a home at 3:50 p.m. Dec. 16. The burglary is still under investigation and the police report has not been completed.

A residence in the 6900 block of West Van Norman Avenue was reportedly burglarized at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16. The burglary in is still under investigation and the police report has not been completed.

Someone broke into Future Nails, 7485 W. Layton Ave., by cutting a hole through the roof between the evening of Dec. 16 and the early morning hours of Dec. 17. Once inside, they tried to punch a hole through the drywall between the nail salon and the jewelry store next door, but were unsuccessful. Nothing was stolen from the nail salon.

Jewelry and several other items were reported stolen from a locked home in the 3200 block of West Edgerton Avenue at 10:35 p.m. Dec. 18. A side door was forced open.

Seventy seven batteries, valued at $770, were reported stolen out of a locked battery cage at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., on Dec. 25. An axe-like tool was used to break the lock.

A man entered the rear stockroom at Walgreens, 4265 S. 60th St., and stole a garbage bag full of cigarettes at about 1:25 a.m. Dec. 26. About 20 minutes before the burglary the same man, described as a white male in his 20s wearing a dark jacket, pants and tan work boots, shoplifted a basket full of merchandise from the store and fled the lot in a silver SUV.

Police went to a home in the 4700 block of West Anthony Drive after the resident reported finding three teens rummaging through his garage at 4:15 p.m. Dec 31. The teens allegedly stole a garage door opener before running off.

Theft

A catalytic converter was stolen off a Honda Odyssey van at the Hales Corners Park N Ride, 4800 S. 108th St., between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 12.

A catalytic converter was stolen off a truck at the Hales Corners Park N Ride, 4800 S. 108th St., between 7 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Dec. 13.

A Samsung cell phone was stolen from a customer at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., on Dec. 14.

A 2009 silver Honda Accord was stolen at Mad Dog Saloon, 4395 S. 76th St., at about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 14.  The unlocked vehicle was left unattended with the engine running when it was stolen.

A 2014 Subaru Outback was reported stolen in the 4700 block of West Anthony Drive at 5:25 a.m. Dec. 15. Police later learned the vehicle was involved in an accident in West Allis during the evening of Dec. 14, and a man (the driver) was taken into custody.

Four tires were reported stolen off a Chevy Silverado in the 3200 block of West American Drive at 10:40 a.m. Dec. 16.

Two people stole a bird from Pet World Warehouse, 5415 S. 27th St., at about 5:15 p.m. Dec. 16. The bird, a black-headed caique or parrot, is valued at $1,750.

A snow blower was reported stolen out of a garage in the 4400 block of West Morgan Avenue at 1:20 p.m. Dec. 17. The resident told police she was shoveling snow when the snow blower went missing. A neighbor stated he saw a thin white male and a heavyset white female enter the garage, take the snow blower, and flee down the alley in a royal blue hatchback about 30 minutes before the resident reported the theft.

A sewing machine was reported stolen out of the sewing gallery at Jo-Ann Fabrics, 4950 S. 74th St., at 4:50 p.m. Dec. 27.

Two men were taken into custody after they were caught driving in a stolen vehicle on South 27th Street and West Howard Avenue at about 3:05 a.m. Dec. 31. They were booked and taken to jail.

Assault

A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery for fighting with and hitting other patients and employees at Brotoloc Assisted Living, 3826 S. 36th St., at about 6:15 p.m. Dec. 31. He was also cited for resisting arrest.

Police received a report that a 13-year-old male student at Greenfield Middle School, 3200 W. Barnard Ave., punched a teacher and fled the school at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 13. The boy was found on 35th and Barnard, where he was taken into custody. He is facing battery/assault charges.

Drug possession

Police responding to a report that a 34-year-old woman was found unconscious due to drugs and/or alcohol in the 8100 block of West Whitaker Avenue. The woman’s boyfriend was taken into custody for possession/delivery of heroin at 10:05 p.m. Jan. 1.

OWI

A woman was cited for OWI after she crashed her silver Ford van into an SUV on West Loomis Road and West Edgerton Avenue, and then fled the scene at about 4:55 p.m. Dec. 12. Greendale police pulled her van over on Loomis Road and College Avenue, where she was taken into custody. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.28.

A woman was taken into custody and cited for OWI after she struck a sign with her vehicle and drove into a ditch on South 117th Street and West Beloit Road at 2:55 a.m. Dec. 15. Police later learned the woman also drove through the dumpster area at an apartment building in the 10000 block of West Beloit Road, causing damage to the fencing and dumpsters. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.15.

A man was taken into custody for fourth offense OWI after his vehicle was pulled over for speeding on West Forest Home and West Morgan avenues at 12:35 a.m. Dec. 31. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.23.

A man is facing his sixth OWI charge after a motorist reported following a Toyota Corolla that was swerving all over the roadway in the 10800 block of West Howard Avenue at about 6:10 p.m. Dec. 31. Police stopped the vehicle in the 7500 block of West Forest Home Avenue, where the driver was taken into custody, booked, and taken to jail.

A man was taken into custody for second offense OWI and possession of cocaine in the 5900 block of West Layton Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 1. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.14.

Vandalism

A 2005 Dodge was reported vandalized in the 3900 block of South Sunset Square at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 1. Someone damaged the ignition while trying to steal the vehicle.

Other

A rabbit was found inside the engine compartment of a squad car at the Greenfield Police Department, 5300 W. Layton Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. The rabbit was freed by police and released.

Police received a report that a black male driving a white sedan pointed a pistol at another driver during a road rage incident on South 27th Street and West Barnard Avenue at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 17. The sedan was last seen heading north on South 27th Street.

A male employee at Schlossmann Honda City, 3450 S. 108th St., was taken into custody for threatening another employee at about 1 p.m. Dec. 29. The man allegedly threatened to shoot up the business and the employee, and was walking down a hallway singing a song about shooting and killing people. He was cited for disorderly conduct.

Officers responding to multiple reports of gunshots in the area of South 37th Street and West Edgerton Avenue took a man into custody for shooting a rifle inside his garage at about 10:15 p.m. Dec. 29. He is facing a charge of endangering safety by use of a firearm while intoxicated.

Police responded to Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., after reports of several large groups of teenagers were coming into the store and harassing customers, throwing merchandise around and pouring deer hunting urine scents throughout the store at 9:10 p.m. Jan. 1. The teens left the store when told police were called.
