Burglary

An undisclosed amount of cash and expensive costume jewelry were stolen from a locked home in the 6100 block of South 35th Street between Oct. 22 and 8:35 p.m. Oct. 30. A suspect got into the home by kicking in the rear door.

Theft

A male shoplifted two baskets filled with merchandise at Barnes & Noble, 4935 S. 76th St., and fled the parking lot in a black Nissan Altima with black tinted windows at about 4 p.m. Oct. 24.

Coins and CDs were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 6600 block of West Edgerton Avenue at 7:40 a.m. Oct. 25.

A backpack containing a textbook and a calculator was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 5200 block of South Tuckaway Drive at 7:50 a.m. Oct. 25. The backpack and calculator were later found in the area about an hour after the theft was reported.

A battery charger, air compressor, a Gerber tool and a Bluetooth speaker were reported stolen out of a Pontiac G6 parked in the 5300 block of South Tuckaway Lane at 8:40 a.m. Oct. 25.

A purse was stolen from a self-checkout area at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., at about 5:35 p.m. Oct. 25. The victim told police she set her purse down at the register to ring up her merchandise, and when she went to pick it up to pay for her purchase her purse was gone.

Tools were reported stolen out of a garage in the 4000 block of South 90th Street at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 27.

A Jeep Renegade that was stolen from the lot at Club Paragon, 3578 S. 108th St., was found engulfed in flames near 11th and Pierce in Milwaukee at about 12:35 a.m. Oct. 29. The victim told police he parked his vehicle at Club Paragon at about 9 p.m., and was still inside the bar when he received a call from Milwaukee Police stating they found his vehicle, on fire, in their city.

A silver Jeep Liberty was reported stolen in the 8800 block of West Waterford Square at 11:35 a.m. Oct. 30. The victim told police his vehicle towed to Dave’s Garage in the 5400 block of West Forest Home Avenue on Oct. 28 and did not know it had been stolen. The Jeep, which was involved in a hit-and-run accident, was found in an alley in Cudahy with its ignition punched out.

Accidents

Two people were taken to Froedtert Hospital after their motorcycle was struck by a vehicle in the 3700 block of South 35th Street at 11:05 p.m. Oct. 27. The driver of the vehicle ran away from the collision, and he was later taken into custody at his home. He is facing a felony charge of hit and run/causing great bodily harm and was cited for disorderly conduct.

Vandalism

Two windows were broken on a 2012 Honda Civic and tires were slashed on another vehicle parked in the lot at Burger King, 4555 W. Forest Home Ave., between 9:15 and 10 a.m. Oct. 26.

Someone smashed a window on a vehicle parked at Kyoto Restaurant, 7453 W. Layton Ave., and fled at about 8:20 p.m. Oct. 26.

Other

A man was taken into custody for threatening to shoot another customer at Corner Club Bar, 4309 W. Grange Ave., at about 8 p.m. Oct. 24. He was cited for disorderly conduct and released.

A resident in the 6000 block of South 34th Street reported someone smashed several of his pumpkins and placed a Trump sign in his yard at 2 a.m. Oct. 29.

Police went to Walgreens, 4688 S. 108th St., after receiving a report that a female customer wearing a red and black costume dress and face paint threatened to go on a shooting spree and shoot a female employee at 6:55 p.m. Oct. 30. The suspect told police she threatened the cashier because she had “an angry face,” but also stated that she was just joking. She was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct and was trespassed from the store.
