Tools were stolen from a garage in the 4300 block of South 78th Street between 3 p.m. Sept. 3 and 9 a.m. Sept. 6.
A watch and jewelry were reported stolen from a residence in the 4100 block of West Layton at 9:20 p.m. Sept. 7.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen off a vehicle at Crazy Jim Groh Auto Inc., 5371 S. 27th St., at 12:10 p.m. Sept. 5.
A radio was stolen out of a van in the 6600 block of West Barnard Avenue between 5:15 p.m. Sept. 5 and 12:45 p.m. Sept. 6.
A resident at Golden Living Center-Heritage Square, 5404 W. Loomis Road, reported $145 was stolen from a locked drawer in his room while he was taking a shower between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Sept. 10.
An intoxicated man who was allegedly punching cars and antagonizing other people to fight was taken into custody for possession of cocaine at Romine’s High Pockets, 6125 S. 27th St., at about 2:45 a.m. Sept. 11.
A man was taken into custody for second offense OWI and was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after his vehicle struck and knocked over a light pole on South 84th Street and West Layton Avenue, and then tried to drive away at about 12:45 a.m. Sept. 5. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.21.
A man was taken into custody for fourth offense OWI after he was seen trying to push his vehicle out of the roadway while lying/kneeling on the ground in the 7500 block of West Layton Avenue at about 7:10 p.m. Sept. 9. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw and transported to jail.
Police received a report that a window was smashed out on a 2002 Lincoln Continental in the 8500 block of West Cold Spring Road at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 9.
A 75-year-old woman was taken into custody in the 11500 block of West Cold Spring Road for asking a man if he knew anyone she could hire to kill her son’s girlfriend at about 8 p.m. Aug. 28. When questioned by police, the suspect allegedly stated she wanted her son’s girlfriend dead because she was angry, but stated she’d never actually hire anyone to kill her. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
A 27-year-old Greenfield man was taken into custody for hit and run/causing injury for colliding with a motorcycle on South 72nd Street and West Layton Avenue, and then fleeing the scene at about 6:20 p.m. Sept. 2. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to stop for a stop sign, driving with suspended registration, failure to keep a vehicle under control, no insurance, and two counts of hit and run for crashing into two parked vehicles while fleeing. The motorcyclist suffered multiple abrasions and was treated at the scene.
A man was taken into custody for trying to start a fire by his neighbor’s door in the 3100 block of West American Drive at about 9 a.m. Sept. 7. He was cited for negligent handling of burning materials.
Police went to a residence in the 4300 block of South 47th street after a resident reported there was a chicken in her bush at 2:40 p.m. Sept. 7. When police arrived there was no answer at the residence and no sign of a chicken.
A man was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct for spitting at an employee at Mobil Gas, 5909 S. 27th St., at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 7.
Police received a report that man approached a 12-year-old boy and tried to lure him into his vehicle in the 12100 block of West Beloit Road at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 9. The suspect, described as a white male in his 40s with a mustache, was driving a dark gray, four-door Ford Escape or Express SUV.
Two men were taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct for fighting at Dan Jansen Park, 4820 S. 74th St., at about 10 p.m. Sept. 9. The two were apparently arguing about a deceased relative.
Police went to the Hales Corners/Whitnall Park-N-Ride, 4800 S. 108th St., after a caller reported seeing two men with a power saw underneath his car at about 8:20 a.m. Sept. 10. The suspects, described only as two Hispanic men, fled the lot in a green sedan before police arrived.
