Supergirl
CW, 8 ET/PT

Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers in the CW's 'Supergirl.'

Dean Cain, who starred as Superman in 1993's Lois & Clark, returns to Supergirl as Jeremiah Danvers — the long-lost father of Alex and Kara. He’s now back, fresh from being rescued from Cadmus, and his daughters are planning a celebratory dinner. Unfortunately, it looks like Mon-El is planning to ruin the celebration.

The Voice
NBC, 8 ET/PT

The Voice returns with coaches Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton leading those blind spinning-chair auditions — the show’s best idea and one of the best to ever hit the reality genre. As usual, watch for the chairs and the banter among the judges, which are The Voice’s best assets — even if, combined, they overwhelm and diminish the singers the show is purportedly meant to showcase. Just make sure you flee NBC at 10 ET/PT — because the last thing you should want Monday is to be Taken

Africa's Great Civilizations
PBS, 9 ET/PT (times may vary)

Many of us grew up seeing Africa through the lens of Europe’s great colonizing powers, which tended to either romanticize, exploit or — when it served their purposes — dehumanize the continent. PBS and Henry Louis Gates Jr. try to correct that myopic vision with this six-part examination of the civilizations and culture that grew and flourished in Africa over the centuries.
