Barbra Streisand mourns the death of her 'beloved' dog Samantha

Singer Barbra Streisand paid tribute to her dog Samantha on Saturday, after her fluffy white Coton de Tulear companion of 14 years died.

Streisand, 75, posted the final picture of herself holding "Sammie" on her Instagram account. The shot was taken on Mother's Day, May 14.

"This is the last time my picture was taken with my beloved girl Samantha," the singer wrote. "May she rest in peace. We cherish every moment of the 14 years we had with her. May 2003 - May 2017."

Streisand, who counts The Way We Were as one of her most famous songs, has frequently posted pictures of Samantha on Instagram.

Six days ago, Streisand posted a birthday snap with the caption, "Happy 14th birthday, dear little Sammie."

There was this Samantha post on National Pets Day on April 11.

And this heartbreaking shot as Sammie's health failed.
