Oscars: The 10 best dressed

Cindy Clark
USA TODAY

So many waves, so many red lips. These ladies finished off awards season in high style.

1. Jessica Biel

She topped our list at the Golden Globes, and she's wowing us yet again. Like, wow. We couldn't stop looking at Biel in her metallic Kaufman Franco gown. “I call it perfection,” her husband Justin Timberlake told E!. We tend to agree.

Giving Oscar a run for his money.

2. Emma Stone

It was a winning look for one of the biggest stars of awards season. The best actress winner for La La Land was Old Hollywood perfection in this glamorous, golden Givenchy gown. A swingy fringe adds to the drama, and her finger waves and red lips complete the Gatsby-esque look.

Stone's time to shine.

3. Ruth Negga

The best actress nominee for Loving looked gorgeous and elegant in a long-sleeved Valentino gown. "It's beautiful and I love it," Negga told USA TODAY about her headband, and ethically sourced rubies. Her blue ribbon, which was seen on many stars, signified her support of the ACLU.

A classy act.

4. Brie Larson

That neckline. Those ruffles. This dress is sexy and chic and we want it in our closet, please.

We want this dress.

5. Hailee Steinfeld

She stole the show in a dramatic Ralph & Russo gown. Embellished with soft florals, the look was fresh and delightful.

A red-carpet winner.

6. Taraji P. Henson

The Hidden Figures star looked like a classic screen siren in an off-the-shoulder Alberta Ferretti gown. A dazzling diamond necklace by Nirav Modi was the icing on the cake.

Everything about this look works.

7. Octavia Spencer

The best supporting actress nominee for Hidden Figures shined in a full and feathery Marchesa gown. Forevermark Diamonds topped off her fun, fabulous look.

A silver siren.

8. Viola Davis

She was a winner even before she walked out onto that stage. Davis, who took home the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in Fences, looked radiant in a beautiful Armani Prive gown.

Winning all over the place.

9. Kirsten Dunst

A dramatic shape makes Dunst’s Dior gown anything but your basic black dress. A shorter hemline shows off the Hidden Figures actress' shoes.

Dramatic in Dior.

10. Naomie Harris

Who says you need to go the distance (hemline-wise, that is) for the Oscars? Harris' short white Calvin Klein By Appointment dress says party in the front and the back. And those yellow shoes? Pure perfection.

Harris is white hot in this stylish look.
