U.S. service academies

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner announced that students from Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District have received nominations to the U.S. service academies.  Christopher Slosar of West Allis has been named an alternate nominee to attend the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York and the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Monica J. Guerrero-Gomez

U.S. Air Force Airman Monica J. Guerrero-Gomez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Guerrero-Gomez is the daughter of Adriana C. Gomez and Guillermo A. Guerrero of Milwaukee.

Guerrero-Gomez is a 2016 graduate of Greenfield High School.

Zachary T. Angles

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Zachary T. Angles graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Angles is the son of Kristin M. and Ty M. Angles, and brother of Kyle M. Angles, Brandon T. Angles and Breanna M. Angles, all of West Allis.

Angles is a 2013 graduate of Heritage Christian School in Brookfield.
