The Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport has been the venue for many famous musicians like Elvis Presley. Most recently it was a location for the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light, coming out this month.

The old Hayride Dinner, located at 516 Texas St., was used as a record producer's office and the Slattery Building as the CBS Television Studio. And perhaps the most dramatic moment in the movie was filmed in The Strand Theatre, which doubled as the canton Memorial Auditorium in Ohio. Williams was on his way to play a show at the theater when he died from alcohol-induced heart failure. An announcement was made to the waiting fans of the country singer's timely death. singer's timely death. I Saw the Light was scheduled to release this month, but was postponed until March. There's talk of the film being in the running for a list of awards — including an Oscar — and it all began here in Louisiana.

The Scottish Rite Cathedral in Shreveport was recently the location for I Saw the Light, a Hank Williams biopic releasing this month.
